While our name and logo has recently evolved, our unwavering commitment to serving our clients and the communities we work in remains unchanged.

1970
Benton opens May 1, 1970, located at 505 East State St., Jacksonville, Illinois. Projects range from survey work, construction stakeout/observation, engineering reports, and preparing plans.
1974
In 1974, Benton is incorporated – Benton & Associates, Inc., a subchapter “S” corporation.
1975
Due to growth, Benton moves in 1975 to 2001 West Lafayette Ave., continuing operations there for 18 years and growing to 18 employees.
1981
Bob Benton elected President of the Illinois Society of Professional Engineers (ISPE) in 1981.
1986
Further honored by ISPE in 1986 when selected to receive the Illinois Engineer Award.
1990
In 1990, Reginald (Reg) H. Benton, PE, SE (son of Bob Benton) is hired as a full-time structural engineer and also named 1990 Young Engineer of the Year by the Capital Chapter of the Illinois Society of Professional Engineers.
1993
Due to continuing growth, Benton holds a groundbreaking ceremony January 14, 1993, for construction of a new office location at 1970 West Lafayette Ave., with 9,300 square feet, moving into the facility September 1993.
2000
In 2000, after 30 years as President, responsible for day-to-day operations, Benton names Bob Benton Chairman of the Board and Reg Benton President.
2002
Second office opens at 713 North High Street, Kirksville, Missouri, to serve client needs in Kirksville and Adair County area.

Third office opens at 804 West Jackson, Macomb, Illinois to serve client needs in the Macomb area.
2008
Benton pushes “Quality of Service” envelope, undergoing an “Organizational Peer Review”, a voluntary study to identify areas of improvement and reinforce effective business practices.

Benton celebrates 50th Anniversary.
2022
Jamie Headen (28 years – starting part-time in high school) named President and Reg Benton named Chairman of the Board.
2025
Benton Engineering unveils a new brand and website to represent the outside-the-box thinking that helps our clients get the job done. The new graphic identity is reflected in a modern, state-of-the-art website leveraging the new Benton logos and brand colors.
